Resources
at the Disaster and Emergency Preparedness Conference

You will need supplies to help you survive the 72 hours until first responders can reach you to help after a disaster.  It might be even longer before help arrives, so the better prepared you are, the better off you will be.  If you have already taken a Disaster Preparedness class, you are much better informed than most people.  However, many people who take a class do not take the next step and gather supplies at home, in their car, and at work.  It doesn't do much good to know what you need if you don't have it ready when a disaster strikes.

That's why we are holding this Disaster and Emergency Preparedness Conference.  We want to help you take the next step after the class training:  get supplies together.  You may have already noticed that we are offering a 72-Hour Emergency Kit.  It has the basic necessities, but you will need to add to those basics the items for which your family has any special needs, such as extra medicines or glasses, special tools, bags or rope, etc... the list is too long to spell out here.

Vendors at DEPC will be there to teach you what you might need to add to the basics, and to offer to sell many of them to you.  In addition to 'things' which you may need, there are also subjects in which you may need extra training such as first aid, fire suppression, etc.  Organizations in our area which can help or train you in such needs will also be at DEPC.  Listed below are the organizations and vendors scheduled to participate at DEPC:
