In an effort to support and improve the well-being of marriages and families throughout the region, the South Jersey Healthy Marriage & Family Summit seeks to provide instruction, information and resources to address challenges facing today’s marriages and families.

  • Barry Wright

    The Honorable Mayor of Winslow Township

    A native of Winslow Township, Barry Wright currently serves as Mayor of the largest municipality in Camden County following a lengthy career in law enforcement and public safety.  Under his leadership, Mayor Wright has worked to stabilize the township’s budget and build a safe community to position Winslow Township as an epicenter for business and residential development.


  • Kevin C. Brown

    Founding Pastor, The Perfecting Church

    Kevin Brown serves as the founder and senior pastor of The Perfecting Church in Sewell, New Jersey, a growing congregation known for community service and modeling that healthy relationships with God and our neighbors not only transforms individuals, but entire communities.


    Kevin has spearheaded community engagements locally and abroad, mobilizing members of The Perfecting Church to use their professions as tools to meet needs.  He has spent the past two and a half years leading humanitarian service projects in the West Bank, fostering dialogue, reconciliation and mutual respect among Christians, Jews and Muslims.


    Kevin attended Penn State and Morgan State Universities and holds a degree in biblical studies from Vision International University.


  • Curtis A. Myers

    President and Founder, Aspire Youth Development

    Curtis A. Myers is the president and founder of Aspire Youth Development, Inc. a dynamic training organization that provides personal development programs & services for students to equip them with the skills necessary to maximize their abilities. Our focus is to develop leadership skills through engaging trainings that instruct, motivate and advance students’ practical demonstration of leadership and employment success.  He is committed to providing programs to transform lives in communities throughout our region and nation.


    Curtis A. Myers graduated from Willingboro HS (1985) and the University of Pennsylvania-Wharton School of Business (1989) with a B.S. degree in Finance and Entrepreneurial Management. While a student at Penn, he served as a middle school mentor/tutor and served as a counselor with the CORP and LEAD programs in Philadelphia.  These experiences developed his passion for working with young people.  He has worked in youth development in various organizations including Family Services of Burlington County (Oaks Integrated Care), the YMCA of Burlington & Camden Counties, and volunteers with The Perfecting Church as the director of student communities and A Few Good Men.


    Curtis resides in Westampton, New Jersey with his wife of 25 years, Marcia, and their two beautiful daughters, Charisse and Victoria.

  • Kristen Palagano

    B.S., M.A.

    Kristen earned a B.S. in Kinesiology from West Chester University and went on to happily teach health and physical education for several years.  During her time teaching, she wanted to find a way to connect more with the students, so she entered graduate school and earned a Master’s degree in School Counseling from The College of New Jersey.


    Currently, Kristen works for Camp Fire NJ, a non-profit organization that provides lessons in New Jersey schools to empower youth with the life skills to face everyday challenges.  Kristen also has the pleasure to work alongside Mr. John Kriger of Kriger Consulting, LC.  It is the work she has been doing with John that has focused on Technology Dependence and its effects on individuals and families.


    Kristen is married with two teen-aged children that are consistently providing “continuing education hours” in her constant struggle to find the balance between work, family and technology use.


  • Dr. Chris Winfrey

    Founder, New Image Wellness

    Dr. Chris Winfrey is a psychiatrist practicing in the greater Philadelphia region with a clinical interest in spirituality and cultural issues specifically affecting African-Americans in the psychiatric context.


    Dr. Chris Winfrey completed his undergraduate education at the University of Central Arkansas, graduating with a B.S. in Biology in May 2006.  He completed his medical education at University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, College of Medicine where he obtained his M.D. degree in May 2011.


    Dr. Winfrey holds memberships with the American Psychiatric Association and the American Medical Association and is the founder of New Image Wellness, a private practice he owns and operates in Marlton, New Jersey.


  • Michael Dixon

    Director of Marriage & Family Life, The Perfecting Church

    Affectionately known as “Coach Mike,” Michael Dixon is a sought-after conference speaker and marriage coach who currently serves as the director of marriage & family life at The Perfecting Church where he oversees Perfecting Marriages.


    The author of “Marriage…The Secrets to Loving It,” Mike seeks to both educate and motivate couples to integrate their differences to achieve lasting intimacy, security and passion in their marriage.


    A transplant from Cleveland, Ohio, Mike resides in Gloucester Township, New Jersey with his wife Tami, and together they are the proud parents of three children and a grandson.


  • Ed Willis

    MBA, AMA

    Ed Willis serves as a managing partner for financial services at Big Sky Enterprises, LLC where he provides project finance and strategic counsel to development projects.  Ed maintains more than 35 years of experience in finance and business development having served as president of a Venture Capital Subsidiary and Manager of Project Finance of Sun Oil Company among other positions.


    Ed holds an MBA from Harvard and is a member of the Burlington County Economic Development Committee as well as the Shils/Seidman Scholarship Committee at the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania.


    A native of Americus, Georgia now resides in Westampton, New Jersey with Sherry Willis, his wife of 47 years, and is the proud father of four adult children and four grandchildren.


  • Steve Shuster

    Senior Pastor, Sicklerville United Methodist Church

    Steve Shuster was born in Camden and grew up in Audubon, NJ. In his early twenties, Steve began attending the Audubon United Methodist Church. It was there under the leadership of Rev. Will Hoffman, that Steve gave his heart to Christ. Experiencing a call to ministry shortly thereafter, he enrolled at Eastern University where he would later graduate with a BA in Religion and go on to earn post-graduate degrees at Princeton Theological, Drew University, the Graduate Theological Foundation and Oxford University.


    Steve now serves as senior pastor of Sicklerville United Methodist Church but his ministerial record also includes service to churches in Pine Hill, Hammonton, Audubon and Millville.


    Steve is married to Christine. A former nurse in the neonatal intensive care unit at Virtua in Voorhees, Chris also earned a bachelors in social work degree. She was able to blend her education and work experience by working in the pre-natal clinic in Voorhees until she became ill. In 1995 Christine began to experience unusual symptoms of fatigue and muscle failure. A year later she was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. She enjoys being involved in church activities when her health permits.


    Steve and Chris are blessed with three children and a daughter-in-law.


  • Angela M. Brown

    Executive Director, Loving Our Cities

    Angela M. Brown is a woman recognized for making a difference and inspiring others to do the same. A seasoned media personality, conference speaker, author and businesswoman, Angela enjoys nearly 20 years of experience as a public relations executive, including eight years as president of OmniMedia Consulting Group, an award-winning PR firm shefounded that specialized in media relations, event planning and media training.


    Currently, Angela serves as the executive director of community engagement and strategic partnerships at Perfecting Ministries where she is responsible for communicating and executing the vision and mission of Perfecting Ministries and its affiliates through oversight of all marketing communication, media, government and community outreach, as well as identifying opportunities for community service and strategic partnerships, both locally and abroad through its community engagement arm, Loving Our Cities.


    Angela attended Hampton University and graduated from Rowan University with a bachelor’s degree in Communication and a certificate in African American Studies.  Her memberships include the Links, Inc., where she chairs the Women's Issues Committee for the South Jersey Chapter, the Winslow Township Economic Development Council, the City of Philadelphia Mayor’s Commission on Aging, the Urban Affairs Coalition Community & Economic Development Committee where she co-chairs the Employer-Assisted Housing Program subcommittee and PHILADANCO, where she serves as a member of the Advisory Board and past president of its Board of Directors.


    Angela resides in Winslow Township with her husband of 26 years, Pastor Kevin C. Brown, and together they are the proud parents of two adult children, KJ and Olivia.
